Cell Phone Policy

Due to recent Indiana law updates involving stricter regulations involving mobile devices, the handbook has been updated.

● Student use of wireless communication device:
Per Senate Enrolled Act 185, all school corporations are to prohibit the use of “wireless communication devices” in the classroom. Devices referenced in the law include cell phones as well as other devices that allow wireless communication. The law provides for exceptions to the statutory prohibited use of these devices when permission to use is given by a teacher for educational purposes; the device is needed for the student to carry out provisions of their IEP or 504 plan, or the use of the device is required in order to manage the student’s health care. Please refer to the student handbook for the full Westville Elementary School policy.
